For one of our relations, a global manufacturer of paper solutions, we are looking for a Packaging Engineer. Location: Heerlen, but willing to travel abroad (Germany, US etc.). In this position, you serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all packaging related to cold chain shipping, you participate in cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet the company's expanding business needs and support the company's internal and external customers by executing cold chain projects. Your main tasks:

• Lead the development of new systems, perform technical assesment and studies to set up roduct specifications and test procedures
• Create ew designs, carry out tests to optimize initial designs into final packaging solutions upon customer requests
• Evaluate and benchmark against competition products
• Document procedures and test results to present the outcome in an easy-to-understand way to customers on site throughout Europe
• Be the evangelist of the company cold chain capabilities; Educate internal and external customers

Wat vragen wij

This is what you offer

• Bachelors degree (pref. Thermal packaging/Package Design) with 2 years' experience
• Associate's degree (pref. Thermal packaging/Package Design) with 5 years' experience
• Experience or keen interests in packaging industry
• Knowledge of cold chain nd thermal protection applications is a strong advantage
• Good project management skills
• Multifunctional team player
• Serviceminded
• Mentality to solve a problem
• Good presentation skills (able to train the sales team or customers)
• Pro-active and result driven
• Getting things done mentality / problem solving attitude
• Excellent communication skills at all levels (horizontal and vertical)
• Fluent in English and German language skills (other languages are a plus)
